We look forward to welcoming customers from Saturday 4 July with our temporary take-away menu. The beautiful courtyard garden is spacious and faces directly onto Justice Lane for easy take-aways. Parking just outside is currently free in the Cattle Market car park, which is a central location and close to lovely riverside walks along Welshmill Park and Rodden Meadow.
Café manager Karina says:
We’ve really missed seeing everyone and can’t wait to welcome customers back to our friendly café. I‘ve been trying out all sorts of new recipes during lockdown, so am really looking forward to sharing these with everyone. The exhibition galleries will be closed for a bit longer, but the shop and artist studios will re-open too. We are fortunate to have plenty of space for a safe one-way system and will of course, be following all government and NHS guidelines. It’s a really tough time for small, independent businesses, so we desperately need your support to survive.
The courtyard café is part of Black Swan Arts, the thriving creative community centre for artists and craftspeople in Frome and nearby villages across the region. Over its thirty five year history, Black Swan Arts has championed creativity from every level. It is a registered charity, run mostly by volunteers, which receives no external funding. The arts centre plays a vital part in connecting people, showing and selling high-quality work, hand-made by talented artists. There are working studios to visit, a writing retreat, jewellers, designers, painters, leather makers, illustrators as well as a shop selling high-quality, locally-made gifts.
Café opening hours are 9am – 2pm initially, Tuesday to Saturday. Any further updates will be posted here and on our Google Business profile.
