Culture Recovery Fund

From Arts Council England

We are absolutely delighted and relieved to announce that we were successful in our recent application to the Cultural Recovery Fund and have received a lifeline grant of £54,000. Many much loved venues across the South West have benefited, full details are on the Arts Council website.

We are by no means out of the woods. The funding allows us to stay open and gives us breathing space for the next six months. We need to review, adapt and plan carefully to ensure we are financially viable for many years to come. We will be organising more fundraising campaigns and activities to support our creative and community activities, watch this space…

Hauser & Wirth Charity of the Year

During lockdown we received the fantastic news that we had been chosen to be one of three local charities that Hauser & Wirth Somerset would support for the next year through visitor donations.

This pioneering world-class gallery has been a valued supporter of Black Swan Arts Open for many years, through their judging expertise and first prize money. Their galleries and gardens are now open to the public, entrance is free but donations to their three local charities are encouraged.

We are incredibly grateful to Hauser & Wirth for their generous and thoughtful support through these difficult times.

Best Art Gallery finalist 2021, Muddy Stilettos Awards

We’ve made it to the final round of ‘Best Art Gallery in Dorset & Somerset’. We won the gold award in 2018 & 2019 (it was cancelled in 2020), so no pressure there to maintain our streak… But seriously, we are so appreciative of the incredible support we receive from all of our community. Thank you!

If you wouldn’t mind voting for us, we’d be most grateful. Vote online until 5pm Friday 23 July.
