Title: Volkhardt Müller – The Plantation
Date: 8 September – 6 October
Preview: 7 September, 6-8pm – all welcome

‘The Plantation’ is an exhibition of video, mixed media and print

Unlike the self contained pastoral idyll, the plantation is trimmed to maximize one crop. Its principle is perpetual repetition and it refuses a frame. The plantation is needy and connected, fragile and overwhelming. Its effects are all around us, but it is not something we commonly choose to enjoy.

Müller works across media as a maker of objects, installations, video and print. His work takes a transcultural perspective on the ways in which the iconographies of landscape shape cultural identity.

Volkhardt Müller was the winner of The Black Swan Arts Solo Show Prize 2017, chosen by the Black Swan Programming Group.
